The Village at War, August 2014 - Special Feature

This is a picture special from the superb ‘Village at War’ event, Church Farm, Skegness, held over the 2014 August Bank Holiday weekend. This was in support of The Village Church Farm and also the ABF The Soldiers Charity.

As always, we displayed a large part of our huge WW2 Museum collection, including weaponry, uniforms and many items from the Home Front, including children’s toys, newspapers, currency, food containers, cutlery, and much more….

We were pleased to invite our chosen charity, the ABF The Soldiers Charity.

..a welcome sight to ease parched throats and sore feet…

…and a big Thank-You to the whole team who made this event such a huge success!

And finally…

The Air-Raid experience proved to be immensely popular and was very well received by all...

The event took place at the historical venue of The Village Church Farm, formerly known as Church Farm Museum. On site there is an 18th Century cottage and one of the oldest houses in Skegness, presented as it was in Victorian times. There was much to see and even the opportunity to dress up in clothes from the Victorian era……
